Ian,

No, the R&D money paid by those companies was for an ArF light source scanner. I bet they're far ahead of the competition in this area with their expertise in reflective optics.

<The nice thing was that it indicated they'll probably have at least 6 Lithography customers going forward.>

Seems to me that this stock is a great stock at this price... I mean if you double your money in lets say 3 years (cycle should turn by then?) you've done well for yourself. You can lose money if the micrascan turns out to be a crappy mousetrap and someone builds a better cheaper one. Now I know the big worry at this point is that with the current value of the yen Cannon and Nikon will be formidable (assuming they have a comparable mousetrap) but if SVGI can keep their customers and sell their product the stock will probably WAY more than double. Anyway, if micrascan is a total bust we'll lose all our money... doesnt seem likely... I'm sure AMAT would take us out at this price! Everyone seems to be worried nowadays that a stock might be "dead money for a while" well it looks like the market itself might be "dead money" for a while! ha ha
