I don't know who apple uses for modems now. Maybe they gave a try at making one themselves? I will look into it. I expect the problems will be fixed....perhaps by something as simple as a modified modem script or software upgrade. The bad press AAPL could have done without. They are held to higher standards the MS products due in part to the past success of the early MACs. I expect I will be taking my small AAPL profits shortly unless I can come up with a reason to hold... Regards...

Don't mean to get into the skirmish here gentlemen, however, Webdrone in reading along here I see you saying Apple will be selling 400,000 iMac PCs, I guess that's a bunch of Apples...for Apple. My question is this...are these projected sales based on anything other the pre-ordered iMacs sales? The modem problem shows a great lack of testing....and the mouse is said to be so bad and disliked the recommendation from ZD is to chuck it and get another style. When compared to other PCs it's over priced by triple digits. This thing may end up being another Newton. I'd say the jury is still out since we are just starting to hear from actual users. If things aren't hunky doory with the PC switchovers...they'll scream loud and put the kabosch on that portion of the iMac sales...IMHO. OOPS! There's the bell...come out of your corners fighting. <gg>
