So Kerry is at least 12 hours ahead of us all--maybe more. Well at least ANCR gets mentioned as 'approved' by Transoft. We can wait patiently until Roy fiils us in a little more about this transaction. Hope this works out well for you personally, Roy.

Transoft to Merge With G2 Networks

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Transoft Networks, Inc., the industry's leading supplier of open systems Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN) solutions for heterogeneous Windows NT, UNIX and Macintosh clustered servers and workstations, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to merge with privately held G2 Networks, Inc., of Los Gatos, Calif.

The combined company will operate under the Transoft Networks, Inc. name. Corporate headquarters will remain in Santa Barbara, while hardware engineering and operations will be located in Los Gatos.

G2 Networks, Inc. designs and manufactures Fibre Channel hardware, including managed hubs, host bus adapters (HBAs) and switches. G2's hardware products are specifically designed for server clustering and storage area networking.

"We believe that this merger will provide long-term value and a significantly enhanced product offering for our customers," said Larry Marques, G2 Networks' chief operating officer. "The combination of Transoft and G2 Networks' technologies will also enable faster development of products to support the increasing range of markets we serve," he said.

"With this merger, Transoft becomes the only company in the SAN industry that has end-to-end technology ownership of all key network components. G2's managed hubs and HBAs are a strong complement to Transoft's, patent pending, FibreNet suite of file system control software, storage configuration utilities and drivers. The vertical integration of these technologies will enable Transoft to accelerate development of high quality, cost effective and reliable SAN solutions," said Michael Klein, Transoft's chief executive officer. "We plan to augment our own product offerings, while maintaining our commitment to supporting all major Fibre Channel SAN hardware and software companies, many of which are already qualified for use with Transoft's networks under the company's Approved Peripherals Program (APP)," he said.

Approved peripherals and software include products from Adaptec, Ancor, ATTO, Andataco, Brocade, Box Hill, Clariion, Data Direct, Emulex, Fujikura, Gadzoox, Gore, Hewlett-Packard, Jaycor, Legato, McData, Prisa, Qlogic, Seagate, Symbios, Vixel and Veritas.

Transoft's blue chip customer base includes thousands of installations at companies such as Anderson Consulting, Ameritech, Kodak, Home Depot, Prime Star, Disney, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox. Transoft is the market leader in data intensive imaging markets such as digital video, prepress and medical imaging. The company is aggressively expanding into several untapped SAN markets such as online transaction processing, database, internet web hosting and data warehousing. The company has the market position, technology and financial backing to extend its leadership position.

About Transoft Networks, Inc.

Transoft Networks, Inc., develops, manufactures and markets open systems Fibre Channel ("FC") Storage Area Network ("SAN") software and systems for the visual computing and enterprise networking markets. The company pioneered SAN, which allows multiple servers and workstations simultaneous direct access to shared storage at up to 100 times faster than traditional LANs. Transoft's patent pending FibreNet software allows standard Windows NT, UNIX, and Macintosh computers (or any heterogeneous combination thereof) to become an integrated, intelligent SAN. FibreNet is a powerful enabling technology that puts ordinary storage devices rather than servers at the center of the network resulting in enormous performance gains and cost savings. Transoft is headquartered in Santa Barbara, California and is a member of the Fibre Channel Association and Fibre Channel Loop Community (FCLC).

Transoft is the worldwide leader of open systems Fibre Channel storage area networking (SAN) solutions for heterogeneous Windows NT, UNIX and Macintosh clustered servers and workstations. News and information are available at transoft.net.

<<Kerry, now that MF folder is closing any day now, so if you have parting words there now is the time.>>

I'll save my postings for the time when the folder re-opens. IT is obvious that the shorts and naysayers are in fat city, gloating and in attack mode. I don't even have to read Motley Fool to reach that conclusion. Why read it every day just to get depressed? Besides, it seems to me that everyone reads SI and Yahoo these days..takes too much time to keep up with 3 financial threads on the same stock. Life's too short. I have nothing to say to my good "friend" Planelane, other than "get a life and seek out a good psychiatrist".
