Move over MSFT , AIX is a'comin to 64-bit INTC

Already on the PowerPC , IBM will add it to INTC's 64-bit IA specification in (hehehe) 2000 or (hehehe) 2001:

" "Unix will be big, and Unix on Intel will be big through 2005," Zeitler
said. "Why not have those Intel servers on AIX?" According to Zeitler,
Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM wants to dominate the Unix-on-Intel space.
"From a business perspective, AIX is a very strong product," said Zeitler.
"With the right partner, it can be a player in the eventual Unix consolidation. "
