David; I'm not singing the merits of DELL but keep in mind it's
part of what I call the magic ten. It's very hard to take down a
stock once it becomes as big as DELL is. The MO MO effect of the
index funds tracking the S&P forces them to buy all of the Magic
10 in an up market.
If you short Dell be sure it's in a down market, when they are also
selling. In other words don't stay short dell if the market kicks
to the up side, re-short when the market drops, she is too
high up in the index to fight the market.
Don't count on a major drop unless the market tanks.
This is a strategic view , & has nothing to do with FA,
getting the kings off the top of the hill takes damm near
tearing the hill down.
Nature of our index funds, and S&P weighting causes this.
Jim
