But I suppose it made sense for people to switch from WordPerfect to Word, and from Dbase to Access? These kinds of transitions happen all the time, and have often been precipitated by Microsoft. What you seem to be saying is that we've somehow reached the end of the road, and no amount of improvement is worth changing for any more. That's pretty defeatist. Don't you suppose if someone came along tomorrow with a killer app _and patented a key part of it_ that Microsoft might have trouble maintaining its monopoly? JMHO.
