agreed on the mulitnational front, though i think most of the impact will be limited to these companies. of course, these are the big dow and NDX companies, so they are going to have problems going forward which may affect psychology.

on the revolutionary front...this is very interesting. i have been thinking about this for some time. the likelyhood of a commmunist takeover in russia is not high at all. if anything we will see a fascist regime develop along nationalistic lines.

what would be really interesting is to see southern sections of russia and the former USSR shift toward islam. we could end up seeing a confederation of middle eastern states arise as the next big world power.

James -- Agreed, multi-nationals should get pummelled. I'd expect CAT, DD to get *really* clobbered.

Market today is looking feeble. We're at the day's lows, and buying has been tepid. The "buy-on-dips" crowd has been replaced by sell-on-strength.
