OFF TOPIC

I guess it is an optical mouse, like SUN use to market.

I have no explanation for a mechanical mouse.

OTWhy does my mouse hate the sunshine so? As soon as the soon comes up and into the room I have to close all shades or the mouse stops working. Anyone know?

I will venture to guess that there is a combination of oil and lint on the rollers. When the oil heats up it gets sticky. The key is to clean the rollers (not just the mouse ball).

OT, FReeus, re your Mouse not liking the sun

No jesting, this is not uncommon, its to do with the way the sensors work, and it is an effect of light, not heat, dust or anything else.
There is a Compaq usenet forum with several threads bemoaning the mice on certain low end Presarios, which apparently are supplied with cheap mice which are very susceptible to sunlight. It seems to depend how thin the plastic is.

Try a microsoft mouse, I've never had a problem with one of those. But then again, living in the UK, an excess of sunshine isnt normally a problem either :-)
