Paul, as I understand it, the trick was to make "biodegradable" for less money than what was already out there, while making the containers so they hold in "hot" and "cold" better -- without those temperatures permeating through to the outside of the containers. As regards egg cartons, I have no clue. However, landfills are going to love "biodegradable", and if it were so easy to do, then why hadn't it already been done with containers other than egg cartons? (After all, "biodegradable" is what we're all striving for.)
