Jim, SanDisk is obviously trying to make good on its initiative to become the "lowest-cost supplier". At 0.18u, flash memory will be cheap enough for mainstream applications. You'll probably see 40MB cards for what 8MB cards cost today.

Fine lines and copper could make for a very fast CF card. Fast enough to replace hard drives in rough/hazardous environments and for some vertical apps. The power draw would fall so low that you might be able to run Windows 98 and a reflective LCD display on penlight cells. I hope SNDK gets there before "the other guys".
