InSook,
The DRAM market is still strong, but as the Sept pricing is being negotiated this week, its not clear yet if suppliers can or will raise
prices. This will become evident in a couple of more days. If it does happen maybe we will see some small positive sign with MU if one believes DRAM price has any effect on MU's stock price, but if not
it may be delayed for one more month. It will be interesting to watch
if the spot will hold $9.25-$9.60 range for 8mx8 as contract is still way down.
One thing that I see anyway is 4mx16 is going away as its more profitable to build 8mx8 on 64M modules than 4mx16's that have been used primarily on 32M modules. Also, pricing of two 32M modules is rising to the price of one 64m module. This will cause demand for
32M modules to go away and 2mx8 chips to go away.
This may not make much difference in MU stock price but there it was for what its worth.
Good trading.
