OT Mouse Cleaning. : just take it apart and blow it out?
Sometimes it needs a good cleaning. I use those little alcohol coated hand washing pads. Be sure it has no lotion in it or it will gum up again. Usually the lint and oil is trapped around the rollers so you need to rub a bit. If nothing else use a clean paper towel or a clean eraser end of a pencil.

Try taking out the ball & use a q-tip to remove the junk that builds up on the rollers inside.
