The vulnerability doesn't go away for the merged company, if the merger does go through at all. Ibexx

Don't agree that CIEN's stand-alone value is less than $30. Heck, I bought in after the first T and WCOM news debacle this Spring and that brought CIEN down from the 50s to 35-37 (if memory serves me). CIEN is making money, has the top technology in a truly break-out field, and is still a juicy target for takeover by CSCO. CSCO can sell CIEN's DWDM if TLAB doesn't want to (though I agree that TLAB probably has the better selling force in the carrier space which is what CIEN needs).
