Robert, how are these alternative commodity indices performing relative to the CRB index? Do they support or refute Zeev and Joseph's thesis about worldwide deflation/recession? -Greg

Robert, as a purist, you are right and you should use a weighed average, unfortunately, these indices are published weakly and if you want to detect a trend developing, you try and find an index you can follow in "real time", the CRB is such an index and its psychological influence on the market should not be underestimated. It did break a new low and without a major decline in either Pt or Cocoa (VBG)
