An ideal is by definition unobtainable. But presumably, by trying to achieve it, you will be better off, the world will be better off.

Just because 60% of men don't live up to their ideal is not an argument to chuck those ideals into the toilet.

<<I was extrapolating from conflicting data that more than 60% of
American men have committed adultery while 80% of them believe that it is wrong. >>>

It doesn't make them hypocrites at all. Far from it Doughhead. Just because someone committed the act of adultery doesn't mean they think it was right. You're asking someone about something they did in the past and then asking them how they feel about it now. Now if you were to ask them "Are you currently having an affair and do you think it is wrong" and they answer yes to the former and no to the latter and then you ask them "Do you think it's wrong for the President to have an adulterous affair" and they say yes well then you might perchance be able to truthfully pin a badge of hypocrisy on them.

<<Brother Bob, I take it from the question that you have not found your lifetime partner yet? Perhaps too much time focussing on the President's sex life and not enough on you own.>>>

How ironic. We'll be celebrating our 3rd year anniversary this Wednesday. Oh and by the way, the focus of most good marriages is not limited to sex or didn't you know that? Maybe it's time the President figured that out. I'd send you a picture but mmmm...naw, know telling what you'd do with it. By the way...you spelled focusing wrong...<smirk>
