And how long did it take IBM to change after the last time they saw this same exact scenario? And how much market did they lose in the process?

It is my argument that DELL's competitors are much further behind the curve than most people realize. I would also argue that anything short of total implementation of the direct model remains less than totally efficient, relative to DELL.

Make no mistake. This is DELL's game to win; not theirs to lose. They've already lost it, unless DELL fails to continue executing the direct model as it has been doing so well.
