Mike- you are wrong.. I am sorry to say!

I called both Portico and CWG my reseller, and got the pricing for Portico. It is on a "LEG" basis. That is: one leg calling into portico, one leg calling out. Both charged at .17$ a min.
My estimate for myself on Portico with

100 minutes checking the service (100)
100 minutes people finding and being connected to me (200)
50 minutes people leaving voicemail (50)
150 minutes me returning calls or using the contact phonebook to place calls (300)

with my 300 minute plan at 49.95$ a month (aside from the pre-signup bonus this is what I will pay every month after this one.)
This puts me at 109.45$, because after my billed minutes I am left with 350 minutes to pay .17 a min for.

If I bump up a plan and get 750 minutes I pay $99.95 a month, a whopping 10$ savings.

I called a two Portico competitors, both VUI driven: Webley at $74.55 a month (They charge .149$ a minute and no per leg charges) and Wildfire at $170.25 with per leg charges and extra charges for outbound calls as well.

Other competitors priced out less than Portico but were TUI-driven: Linx communications at $99.95 and Call sciences at 86.70$ a month.

All of these numbers are based on the model I showed for Portico. I think that they may get under priced by the TUI services, but I am more worried about Webley. Granted they dont have news or stocks.. but they have sync capabilities, and their VUI has multiple personalities and is alot more ironed out than what I find to be a bug-ridden Portico...

That is my two-cents.
Enjoy!
JC

To All--Not a great day for gmgc. Looks to close at days low. Will be test 5 5/8 again or can 6 hold. This will be a slow week for the markets and may see a bit more manipulation than normal. I wouldn't be surprised to see some shorts take it down a bit more. I'm long but just don't feel comfortable holding this one if it can't hold 6 or at least 5 5/8 intraday. Still long today and hope to stay that way.

It's double minutes when someone calls in and Portico locates you. Incoming calls that deposit messages are counted as 1 minute.

The problem I have is that to use Portico voice mail, I am charged for every message that is left for me, then when I pick up that message, I get charged.

As for having a secretary locate me, that's not important. I have my wireless with me and Portico is no better at delivering me notification than is the SMS notification I already get.

Finally, I'll believe a little more when I see a carrier roll with Portico.

Anyhow, I've just started using Portico. Till I give it a month to get used to me, I can only complain that it is too expensive.
