Mary Matlin(sp?) mentioned it on Sunday and Rush told the whole story on his show today.

Actually, the events described between POTUS and ML
are well within the limits of human normality. I suppose that
ML would have left the wrapper on the cigar...

But activities that are normal and legal in one place, are not
necessarily normal or legal when done in another place.

People have adulterous affairs all the time.

If they get caught having them in the office, even during after
hours, they lose their job.

It is perfectly normal for individuals to drink adult beverages,
take their clothes off, and fall asleep on the floor.

When our night janitor did this in the building, he lost his job
when he was found asleep the next morning. The woman
who found him, thought him dead, at first sight.

I have never heard of anyone admitting having sex at work
and keeping their job. This would particularly apply to a
boss of an employee, or someone using other employees
(guards, etc.) to ensure privacy. Any activity like this would
be considered more than adequate grounds for dismissal.

Professors who have sex with their students (in their office?)
get fired at many universities, particularly those that have rules
governing the relations between students and professors.
Some universities allow this providing it is off campus, and
the student is not one who's grades (or graduation or what
have you) is controlled directly by the professor. The president
is in a much more public position than a professor at a
university.

These are standards for normal behavior in our society.

Sex is something that people generally keep pretty quiet.
It is hard to get proof of this sort of activity, cause people
generally don't do it in the open. When you do catch them,
like Pee Wee at the (dark and private) movie theatre, there
are consequences. Part of the reason for their being
relatively severe consequences is that this sort of activity
is rarely caught. When it is, you can generally assume that
a lot more went on undetected.

A lot of people have accused WJC of doing this sort of thing
for years. For years, WJC's supporters claimed that the
accusations were lies. Now it is clear that this sort of
behaviour is something WJC is capable of, and cannot
control, perhaps. The people who suggested that the
rumours of sexual activity at the work place were just
"right wing lies" have now been shown to be wrong.

What about the other right wing rumours. Is the POTUS
a heavy cocaine user? Might this affect his judgement
on issues of concern to the security of the United States?
Did he catch his Nixon-like paranoia as a result of years
of cocaine use? Remember that he won't release his
medical records.

Personally, though I dislike Al Gore's politics relative to
Clinton, I would prefer Gore as chief. Gore has some minor
fund raising stuff going on, but I haven't seen him standing
around making deliberate, knowing lies to the public.
