Several weeks ago, I would have said 'unbelieveable'.
Today its just too many tickets chasing to few seats.

How many shares the first go around and how many more? Be very careful Craig, for AMZN has taken all your gains in your first 8 trades so far! I believe it has taken your 9th and 10th trade profit as well, but your 11th which I believe was DELL has saved you so far! If you are trading 1000 shares of AMZN, in which you have traded all the other times, give or take a few hundred shares, then you still might be losing! I'm using $126 and change for your first short in AMZN!

McNabb was right - there has been too much bearish posting and the bulls have been defensive. The "right" climate for shorting a stock is while enthusiasm is at a peak and starts to decline or a major event signals a change in outlook. I agree with your decision - I think the recent thrashing around by the bulls is not going to change things - AMZN lacks the momentum to maintain it's meteoric rise despite all the attention it has received as the darling of the e-tail stocks and one of the darlings of the sector. The bears may have another month or two to wait for a large decline as the trumpets will be blaring in major and minor brokerage houses throughout the country - "earn your commission checks people, internet stocks are hot and we have six new IPOs coming out, sell, sell, sell!". The analysts and news media treat these stocks much like the Monica Lewinski of the stock market - lots of juicy sex that invites widespread speculation and debate. Regardless of the "facts" the attention has improved ratings (stock prices) so the beat goes on.

, , , But the end of the easy-money ride is near: The next few weeks will be the wind up and pitch and OCT-DEC will be the strike out.
