>>The rumor is that negotiations are breaking down based upon exclusivity <<

You forgot to add, "the rumor I wish to spread is that negotiations...""

The exclusivity issue has been taken care of long ago. TX is interested only in exclusivity for bottoms which they already have. Get your facts straight and stop spreading misinformation.

<<There isn't a deal that will happen this year folks. The rumor is that negotiations are breaking down based upon exclusivity....TX wants it all and they want to lock RNTK in.... RNTK doesn't feel the deal is sweet enough...>>

I must say that such a provocative scenario may be plausible given RNTK's recent posturing. What's your source for this rumor?

If this is to be considered a possibility and Texaco is that determined to "have it all" why would they "drag their feet" and run the risk of losing it to a competitor? Secondly, with the vast resources of Texaco this has got to be a relatively low investment/low risk scenario for them..why not simply "buy out" RNTK?
