My answers to your quiz:

1) I'll say none as well(Reason: my interactive encyclopedia only mentions the fact that Ft. Sumter was unoccupied when the attack started - thereafter a small force moved in, defended it for 34 hrs, then surrendered it to Gen. Beauregard. No casualties were mentioned.

2) Couldn't find this one; however, the name Jennie Wade sticks in my mind. Remember reading years ago(or maybe on a tour at Gettysburg itself) that a young woman was killed when a stray bullet entered her kitchen window.

3) My sources are clear on this one: Plan laid out by surveyor Major Andrew Ellicott and Benjamin Banneker, a free African American who was known as a mathematical wizard.

A trivia question for you:....what was the original shape of the District of Columbia?

BTW, you earned a bonus point with your 5 Chiefs answer. The book I am presently reading only listed 4 of them.
