Does anybody on this thread feel that Hyperion will be threatened by the entrance into this field by MSFT. In Office 2000, Excel is designed to hook directly into the Plato OLAP server and SQL Server 7.0 with the ease of a menu command, not to mention the ability to easily deploy the end user components throughout and Intranet. The amount of VB/VBA/Excel developers who have already placed custom work in the Fortune 1000 crowd is considerable and the analytical capabilities of the newer versionsof Excel are significant, especially when fed by an OLAP/SQL data source.
