How should a "Short Position" be handled with the wash sale rule? EG. If I traded intc 3 times for a net loss and then immediately went short on intc with in a few days...and stayed short till after DEC. 31st. While we are on the subject of shorting. How does one report a short sale on Sched D? Do you identify the transaction as a short? What is considered your cost basis if you say shorted INTC from DEC 31st to JAN 2nd? Any other info on shorting as an investor or trader is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
