For DVD sales, July was the second consecutive blockbuster month, with sales soaring 336.3% to 84,700. The June-July sales total was 164,000 and represented 45% of the 361,000 players sold through the first seven months. Using the VCR selling pattern as a guide, the DVD annual selling rate topped the million mark for the first time in July and stood at 740,000 for the first seven months.
