Hi xray - still shining in the night sky

To be sure - the day to day slide for Napier over the last two weeks has been ugly. The long term trend and outlook going forward remains very positive. I just wish I had some extra cash to grab some more shares - I'll have it within six weeks - I have no idea of where we'll be then - drat :-(

The 'little one' still shines very brightly for me in the night sky.

xray - a question. Is this in part how this play may work? I grab a pile of NIR on the short side as volume increases in the anticipation of great News. The News while very good lacks hard numbers going forward and the market reacts by dumping shares and pushing the share price down. The shorters ride the dump down and when it starts to level off - they then start to buy small packets at the bid to further encourage the share price down on thinnish volume. When they start to run out of shares they need to buy to meet their obligation to their broker at whatever level they have pre-set - say buy small packets to cover 50% of what they owe the boker - and when they sense that a bottom has been reached they buy the remaining 50% - repay the broker in full - and maximize profits.

Is this one scenario for how this particular play that Napier may be undergoing is played out?

I'm curious to understand all forms of investment strategies. I just follow Warren Buffet's model: find great stocks and hold.

xray - why not put some more info about yourself in your SI profile - there's nothing there.

David.
