Will do with sending him your response post.

On a personal level, as I posted several months ago, we just happen to be fairly well situated as a result of basic lifestyle choices over 20 years ago.

We prefer elbow-room, clean air, and a rural lifestyle. There are liteally hundreds of sq. miles of national forest beginning just 50 feet from my keyboard here. We built a passive solar timber frame home years ago with wood heat for back-up (works great). There're more cattle in the local than there are people, etc., etc.

We are not survivalists, never have been. We just prefer to live like this. My concern is-- and always has been-- for the more vulnerable members of society. Many, particualarly the elderly, have spent a lifetime contributing to the overall level of secrurity and prosperty which we all enjoy. I think it would be an unconscienable tragedy to inflict needless risk, harm, or suffering on them (or anyone) simply for not taking the prudet remediation precautions to limit Y2K impacts.

Climbing off my soap box now.
