Demosthenes, it is not Russia's economy or non existing demand for semi equip from there which will influence or not the semi equip market. Russia's malaise may spread to other countries, first in its former domain, then to Europe. Russia fell to the deflationary pressures on commodities resulting from drastic reduction in demand from the world's engine of growth in the last decade, the RIM. The Russian debacle will have negative impact on its immediate trading partners (like Poland and Ukraine), and on its main international bankers (Germany). We might end up with a big world wide domino, in which countries are dragged down by the recession/depression in the far east.
