thean, I think we're communicaying at odds here. Per my post, I envision mu moving more than $5 in either direction as likely over the next 4 weeks. As for the next two weeks, it should only have to move about $3 in either direction to become prifitable. By setting a stop(good till cancel if you will), one wouldn't have to <<"and I pull the trigger to cover in both cases in the nick of time.">> The reason it would only have to move $3 in 2 weeks is that there would still be 2 weeks time premium left on the loosing side whereas the winning side(+$3 direction trade) would have $3 plus time premium. I admit freely that it may not be a huge winner(probably less than 20%) but still, I like the fact that it has a good chance(better than 50/50 IMO) to win no matter which way mu goes. This market is so skittish that is can be very difficult to predict the short term mocements of any paticular stock. One thing is predictable...volatility.
