Rather than buy that fund and gets locked in for 5 years, I would just buy 4 or 5 Japanese ADR here. Off my head, I know you can buy Sony, Toyota, Honda, Hitachi etc big Japanese name companies here in NYSE.

I think you are right about your feeling- in my opinion you would do much better if you try to figure out some great Japanese stocks and than work around them to improve returns..

I'm sure you are aware of this, but for the less experienced who are not: Just because a U.S. Bank is "involved" in the product doesn't mean that the FDIC insures the product. Under current regulations, banks are allowed to sell mutual funds, money market funds, and other financial instruments that are not insured by FDIC.
