You can't denigrate Reagan, the greatest President of the later half of the 20th century with your drivel. The New Yorker is known for its inaccuracies ala Tina Brown, Jane Mayer, Sidney Blumenthal and other assorted shills.

Your corruptness, Clinton, is going down and has earned the ridicule of history. That is condign punishment.

btw, 666, you wear it well.

Myron: Were these accounts from his first or second term. Most would agree that Reagan was showing signs of Alzheimers in his second term and maybe even his first. Alzheimers is insidious and its onset and eventual diagnosis can be overlooked for years. The Reagan haters will try to discount the effect of Alzheimers until he was out of office. Clinton has no such defense unless he ascribes his behavior to some kind of 'addiction' and not a character flaw.

<<These anecdotes are while he was still in office>>

According to Reagan's son Michael, the illness had started to manifest while Reagan was still in office. He also has said that various people who knew this took advantage of Reagan's mental confusion to push through legislation that they knew Reagan would never have approved of had he been in complete control of his faculties. IMHO, the reason the Dems never tried to impeach Reagan was that it was more advantageous to take advantage of a man suffering from Alzheimers.
