"97% of Owners Would Recommend Prizm to Friends - especially at $167 per month" Chevrolet Offers Best Lease on New 1999 Prizm DETROIT, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninety-seven percent of Chevrolet Prizm owners would recommend Prizm to a friend, according to Chevrolet's research, and probably more now that Chevrolet is offering the lowest national lease on a well-equipped Prizm since the all-new model was introduced in 1998. Customers can lease a new 1999 Prizm for $1,000 down with monthly payments of $167 for 36 months and drive 12,000 miles per year under a special lease offer from now through December 31, 1998. Chevrolet enhanced the base Prizm for the lease, adding air conditioning, 3-speed automatic transmission, rear defogger, full wheel covers and floor mats. A lease allowing 15,000 miles per year for the same vehicle is also available for a $1,000 down payment and monthly payments of $179 for 36 months. "Leasing should be especially appealing to young families who might otherwise be considering a used car," said Rick Scheidt, Prizm brand manager. Prizm has a solid reputation for reliability and dependability, and has earned several prestigious industry awards, including a "Best Buy" recommendation from Consumers Digest magazine. Customers who want to buy a 1999 Prizm, instead of lease, can take advantage of a special $1,000 purchase rebate from now through December 31, 1998. Alternatively, they can finance a Prizm at 3.9% annual percentage rate (APR) for 36 months, 4.9% APR for 48 months or 5.9% APR for 60 months. Standard features on all 1999 Prizms include: rear-floor heat ducts, rear door child security locks, Scotchgard(TM) protection, 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine, dual mode trip odometer, tinted glass, composite halogen headlamps and Daytime Running Lamps. Four new exterior colors are available for 1999. "Whether customers buy or lease, Chevrolet has enhanced Prizm's already outstanding value," Scheidt said.
