Just because a stock is Canadian is not necessarily a reason to stay away.

The problem is that with our natural resources there are so many mining and exploration companies listed on the exchanges. Then one of them makes a discovery and it becomes hot and everyone jumps all over it.

Problem is, until they prove they can get the stuff out of the ground and make money, the stock is still worthless. These things get driven by greed.

Best Canadian stocks to look at at present IMO are junior Oil & Gas companies that are producing and making money (they exist, even at current prices). Also oil & gas service companies.

There are also some cash rich exploration companies sitting out the current slump in prices. When funding for exploration dries up, these boys will make money.
