"Did I ever tell you about the time I shot a B-B gun?" My exposure to "firearms" began with Bryant shooting a robin off a power line, and then shooting me in the leg, with a pellet gun. Oh boy. Discriminating tastes. I said, "Lemme try it." He wouldn't gimme it. I looked up firearm in the (whole) red dictionary at this desk, but it doesn't show origin. Anyone have one?
