Jock and others: TechInvestor on 8/11/98 reported that sales of video game systems have nearly doubled in the two months since Nintendo and Sony Playstation assumed a lower price. Each manufacturer dropped its system's price from $ 149 to $129. Why doesn't Sony's success with Playstation translate into increased profitability and revenues for LSI's consumer products ? I have a gut feeling that LSI has been so anxious to maintain its relationship with Sony that it has sold its chips to Sony with minimal profit margins.
