Isn't consensus Wall Street opinion always exceedingly bearish at major troughs? The key is when the stocks stop going down on bad news. If you wait for good news you will miss much of the move.

Analysts and Brokerage Houses are telling the public one thing and quietly accumulating on dips for their own accounts and wealthy clients. When the OSX retraces to new highs, these same folks will be telling you what a great BUY the Oil Service Stocks are. You know, fundamentals like selling at P/E discounts to the S&P 500 with 20%+ Current and Projected Earnings Growth. There many hyped stocks (who have posted little or no profit).selling @ multiples several times that of the OSX . Go Figure....
