<<Everyone else who has posted that they've not had extramarital affairs has been branded some sort of weird goody two shoes by the Clinton apologists.>>

Already happened - it doesn't take long <g>. However, I refuse to be embarassed or ashamed of doing what I think is right. Somehow, I don't think Clinton thought his behavior was acceptable, only that he was unassailable in his power. If I am mistaken, it's even scarier.

Why are people defending Clinton's behavior, especially through use of the "everyone does it" defense? Do they really think what he did was acceptable, or are they only trying to preserve him for political reasons (the very thing the accuse the Republicans of as a motive for attacking the behavior)? Are the Republican politicians being hypocritical (they resisted the Packwood investigation, and used the same privacy and lack of evidence arguments for Clarence Thomas)? Does it matter what the Republicans motivation is - does it make Clinton's behavior okay?

To those of you defending Clinton from possible impeachment - what WOULD be cause for impeachment? Commit to a limit now, so that if it should come to pass that Clinton is guilty of (fill in the blank), you can join his detractors in calling for his removal from office, and his detractors can glorify you for your lack of hypocrisy.

I really do think that a lot of the vitriol on this board comes from the appearance that it is Clinton, right or wrong, to those who support him.
