Because they aren't really that smart. In fact most of them are not nearly as bright as you or others on this thread. They're just buffoons. Long, why don't you take a look at thost companies, the markets they compete in, their business models, evaluate the alternatives of modifying their business, how this modification will affect their customers, and their employees and report back. I'm sure your analysis will be welcome by these competitive companies. Surely they can't do it on their own and therefore need some devine guidance. Or perhaps what they really need to hire a reall REALLY nice new CEO - one with ethics. That should turn these companies into profitable entities. OG
