Thanks. As I said in another post, the short-term memory is the first thing to go <g>.

Why didn't Clinton and the Democrats push through a balanced budget and health car reform prior to the Republican victories? I'm guessing that the answer will be related to the state of the economy, but I don't even remember (there goes that memory again) any talk of a balanced budget at that time, other than to say it was neither desirable nor attainable.
