Marc:

Hate to say it, But ditto. I have a few rules that I trade by that keep me out of trouble.

#1. Don't fight the tape/The trend is your friend --Marty Zweig

#2. Don't call the bottom---ever. Let the market show you the bottom first.

#3. Don't call the top---ever. Let the market prove it to you.

#4. Don't average down.

Strangley enough, these rules work 90%+ of the time and allow me to identify good risk reward opportunities for trading. Is it possible the oil stocks will do an about face and break the down-trend tomorrow. Sure. Is it likely? Probably not.

Once they really show a bottom and actually begin an uptrend, then buy a boatload. It has [far] better odds then averaging down, trying to catch the bottom, and the proverbial falling knife....Just my 2 cents.

Good luck,

Jeff
