You have not looked at the charting of price for Dell (and others) before and after splits. Look at it.
Dell often runs up ridiculous (but fun) price hikes in the stock price directly before a split. It just does. Thats a fact of life. It does not maintain those prices and we all know that and are not amazed or disappointed. Eventually it returns to those prices.
Cisco does not run up as much, although it runs up too, but Sept 1 is too early for Cisco to have run up.
Thus Sept 1 is not a reasonable date.
But in any event it does not matter. Dell will still outperform. Check a chart of both...I'm not dissing Cisco, its performance is great ....
