Article on Microsoft's pricing power can be found in the 9/17/98 issue of Forbes. Apparently MSFT is quietly raising the prices of software licenses to large corporations.. A Gartner Group study says many of these companies will pay more than twice present rates over the next 5 years. Despite price increases switching costs are so high most companies will go along with the new rules. This is one of the few cases where individuals do better than big companies - individual purchases, especialy if made with a new computer, are cheaper. My comment is that taken with all the new products coming out, plus higher prices means that the next few years will be great ones for MSFT owners. This is a must read article.
