There is stock that I own as a long(ABTX) and I have discussed at various times on this
thread that I must say I can not recommend as I buy AT THIS TIME--it has had a
severe sell-off the past 24 hours that I now view
as a knee-jerk reaction by the street to their announcement of a secondary offering. And
their is a possibility this sell-off could get
ugly.Max But on the bright side my NEWZ has gone from 7 to 8.47 the past 2 days :)

Now to update that post on ABTX that I made 8/20---the question is it now a buy?
First I was watching the ticker today and it does not get uglier
than what I saw---here is company that DLJ and Piper Jaffrey have
produced long, complex, heavily researched reports attended with a strong buy recommend--one with a 36 target by 1999.The DLJ report was
32pages long---AND NOW THIS--stocks can be brutal.
First,my paper loss is far, far, far less than others(my paper loss is
now only 14k) but I know others who have taken a huge paper loss hit
on this, and I am feeling bad about this.
I watched the ticker this afternoon and rally after rally was met by
selling,as their was a full fledge panic sell-off in play.
I am myself furious with myself that eventhough I saw this coming
I did not have enough "been through it all experience" to confidently short
against the box.Last Thursday I told my broker that this could go to
9(it hit 9+ today!) but he said he didn't think that would happen--I must now cease underestimating my perceptions!
So do you buy tomorrow--I can not recommend this--when rumors are flying in near nervous breakdown market, the overkill factor in individual stocks is EXTREME. Good Luck,Max

Hi Sandra,

Are you still involved in YES! (YESS) ?????

This is one of my flaming dogs that I have been afraid to average down on because of the company being weak and the market. The company is basically relying on the reintroduction of Teddy Ruxpin as an interactive toy this coming Christmas. It will be interesting to see what happens on this front as I thought it was an interesting play on toys for this Christmas. The stock had a little run up today and after doing a little searching this evening, apparently YESS is in discussions with TY ... the maker of beanie babies for overseas distribution. This has apparently been confirmed by the company CFO Mark Shepherd. If this is in fact the case and they do a deal with TY ..... lookout !!!!!! Beanie babies are HOT !!!!!! and YESS could take flight.

This will be fantastic if true ...... supposedly something big is to be announced Monday of next week. A website at stock-dogs.com apparently has selected YESS as a good play for the next month. I have a few thousand shares I've been sitting on. I hope these rumblings are true. I will be looking closer at the trading to see what is happening also. At first glance there appears to have been some solid buying over the last few trading days.
