PSFT made the statement a while back that they intended to participate in this market through partnerships vs. acquisitions. So I guess this is the end result. I don't think psft has any intention at this point of acquiring either vntv or sebl. PSFT has a full plate right now and probably feels that this makes more sense for them than acquiring another company.

I think that these partnerships have the potential to hurt everyone except psft, sebl and vntv. To answer your question about whether clfy could have the same kind of deal w/psft....my opinion is no way. It just wouldn't make sense and it wouldn't work in the field. As it is, it's going to take some serious management and trust to make this work. Hopefully there won't be too many deals looking for the total solution in the same deal. I can't imagine a sebl and vntv rep working on the same account.

It's interesting that psft chose to enter into a partnership w/both vntv and sebl. But I guess it would have been difficult to do it any other way since they've made major interal commitments to both vendors.

Michelle- I might be wrong on this but I think that PSFT tends to acquire companies in which they make a financial investment vs. companies they partner with.
