Edward Allinson (Brown Brothers) just pounded the table on CNBC for Telebras. 7 P/E, 9 out of 100 Brazilians have a phone. Said foreign carriers paid the equivalent of $295/share in 7/98 privatization. Emphasized that TBH is a restructuring story and new owners will grow the number of lines.

My commentary. Is anyone out there? $295/share!! I heard a figure of $275/share at an early 8/98 investment conference. This is the most baffling stock. With my basis at $83, I hope I get another chance to buy more under $80. Unbelievable

Just picked up more TBH at $84. I will look back upon the August 1998 time frame with fondness.
