BARR has an agreement with the FAA to develop a prototype luggage inspection system based on their Ionscan technology. This is one of the things that has been delayed, and that hopefully will be given a nudge now.

This could give BARR a piece of the lucrative luggage detection system market, which they haven't participated in. It would also position them uniquely in that field, against other detectors that use visual inspection (x-ray, etc.) techniques.

The Ionscan technology detects molecules of the substance being searched for. It is typically used currently in portable "sniffing" equipment. Think of it as an electronic dog. :)
