i can't see any reason not to own this at $42.

Well if you own NETA now you own it at $42 because that it where it closed (up 1 1/4). Had a nice mini-rally at then end when it looked like it would break below $41 1/2 and the market was headed down.

<<<<why are people selling?
1. move into bonds and money markets
2. worry about competition from MSFT, IBM, SDTI, etc. i agree that it is unlikely but the same thing happened with cisco till they ran away with the prize.
3. market stinks
4. people worried that companies will start spending on y2k instead of other stuff
.....there is more but that is a sampler
imho, this is going to be the big kahuna in internet security in a year or two, so i agree about buying the dips......altho' it could still go lower!

Rancher, you're not alone, I've seen a nice gain eroded over the past couple of weeks on really no significant bad news on NETA. I thought the volatility of this stock had lessened, yet it does not seem to be the case now.

I'm still impressed by their ability to acquire other companies to expand their product line and to also deliver earnings consistently that meet the street's expectations. I'm in it for the long haul. Maybe it's time to buy more.

Regards,
Marty
