Ethernet and LocalTalk refer to hardware

AppleTalk is software which provides communication over Ethernet or
LocalTalk (the serial port)

Anyone know when the next generation of powerbooks will come out. I'm interested in buying one in about 6 months and was wondering ...

Thanks, Kok. GREAT IDEA! I like your trick with the bridge very much! Many iMac owners do have extra Macs and could do that, for the iMac isn't their first Mac. As long as their old Mac isn't so old it doesn't have both Ethernet and AppleTalk, the bridge would work fine for them.

It's not for me. I just want to help other people understand what is involved in getting the iMac and in setting it up.

As much as I want an iMac, I will not buy one. I need more slots for my G3/300 and it costs $1000 for more slots. Is that fair? I could almost buy an extra Mac for that price.
