D.C. Metro Rail System Will Be Using Smart Cards By Sept.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's five rail lines all will be ready to accept contactless stored-value fare cards in September, says Peter Benjamin, the system's chief financial officer. Benjamin says employees currently are using the cards; early this fall, about 1,000 consumer volunteers will join in. Assuming all goes well, WMATA plans to convert the entire system to contactless cards in January, he says. WMATA carries more than 500,000 passengers daily. The system developer is Cubic Corp., San Diego.

Remember this?

...... cut and pasted from latest RCOM news release.

"Racom Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RCOM), a developer of contactless smart card solutions and Access Control Technologies, Inc. (ACT), a designer of cashless payment and access control solutions, today announced that they have formed a business alliance to co-develop electronic payment and access control solutions based on Racom's contactless smart card systems. The companies further plan to jointly market turnkey, multi-application smart card solutions to the $38 billion security and the $360 billion retail transaction markets with specific focus on access control, parking and cashless vending applications used at university campuses, transportation facilities, office complexes, entertainment venues and more."

Has anybody got a list of clients ready to order these TURNKEY, MULTI-APPLICATION SMART CARD SOLUTIONS? A few announcements of this sort would sure pick up the spirit on this message board! (not to mention the price of the stock)

Currently, the price of our stock reflects a lack of faith in the RCOM's ability to execute its purported plans rather than itself.

RAtS!
