I am going to try to reach Michael Parekh at GSachs to ask how he decided upon 500 sales/week from launch date without,I'm convinced,
any forecasting from GMGC-which has gone on record as saying next quarter's revenues (ending 9/30, announced in late Oct.) will be nominal.

I have no idea where the stock price is short term heading and clearly some on this board are more tuned in to the factors that create such swings. However, we should at least continue the more important big picture discussion about whether the product is viably targeted at the mobile professional and what are the realistic expectations for revenues from that market. Along those same lines, are the targeted consumers going to buy this product as it continues to expand its features to include true agent technology (having Portico get those Broadway tickets and Yankee world series seats-Go Yanks) conference calling etc. Is this mobile professional market big enough to handle the competition and still have enough pie for everyone or is it winner take all?

If you don't spend 20%+ of your time away from a home office base I don't think this product has economic appeal and that's not a slam on Portico. And to respond to UpTick's comments about the service centers somehow being a showstopper for GMGC's entre into any telco I think a better way to look at it is how much it helps a company (telco) to have a vendor invest in all the expensive hardware and take most of the development and marketing/focus group risks.

The best read on this stock will be in Spring 1999 so if you think you can get it for a lower price, do it, maybe it'll be 1 again. But the jury is out now for a while. Any comments on the big picture would be welcome no matter yea or nay. tks
