Yes, Canadian taxes are higher than in the USA. As with many of the other G7 nations, direct comparisons are difficult because you have to take into account the fact that in different places governments do different things. And so, for example, in Canada health insurance is paid for almost exclusively through taxes, whereas in the USA it is largely paid for privately or corporately. Once this is considered, Canadian tax rates are comparable to most US states.

Darleen, I you may be (close to) right, but the very rich never have it that hard anywhere.
The lower income may have it a little better than our lower income folks.
But would we really like any more "income redistribution" than we have now?
Tht is socialism, take from the rich give to the government who gives a little bit to the poor and keeps the rest for it's self.
